Date: February 5th, 2004
Venue: The Kathedral
Played With: Sixtyseven
This was my first gig EVER! I remember being SO scared and thinking that I was going to lose control of my bodily functions. We were part of the Emergenza Music Festival (it was a competition) and we came in first that night. It was an amazing feeling knowing that we won a competition playing our first-ever show! |
 |
Date: February 14th, 2004
Venue: Rancho Relaxo
Played With: Scarlet Sins
This was my first gig with SS, and it was one I'll never forget...Cris called me up the night before since their singer had bailed on them...we threw together about 6 covers and during the show I was reading the lyrics! I don't have a picture from this show so I'll use on from when the SS girls came to 279 and we all jammed together. |
 |
Date: March 19th, 2004
Venue: The Reverb
Played With: Sixtyseven
By this show, Cristina (from SS) had joined our band as second guitar, and we were stronger than ever (or as much as one could be for their second show, haha). I remember going over to Cris's place before hand after Jo had done our make-up, and I picked out an outfit for her to wear. It was a hit! Haha. We had so much fun playing that night, again it was for the Emergenza Music Festival, and this time it was Round 2. We came in third this round, and from there it was onto our biggest show...at the OPERA HOUSE! |
 |
Date: April 29th, 2004
Venue: The Opera House
Played With: Sixtyseven
Holy Crap, Sixtyseven's 3rd show ever...at the OPERA HOUSE! I was going mad! I was so excited to play there since all my rock heroes had before, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, etc. I was shuffling my feet along the floor to get their vibes into me. Hee. Playing there felt amazing...looking out into the crowd made me realize that this was what I needed to be doing. I'm not sure if I'll ever get to play there again, but I know I'll remember it forever. This was the Semi-Final round for Emergenza and we narrowly came in second by only 13 votes! |
 |
Date: May 7th, 2004
Venue: Mackies
Played With: Sixtyseven, Scarlet Sins
This was a last minute show we ended up playing with Scarlet Sins at a weird little pub on the Danforth. I remember its the last show we played where you could smoke inside, and while we played Sweet Child, Fab had a cigarette hanging out, Slash-styles. It was also the first time I had met SS's new singer, Jen. Her and Cris did a short acoustic set beforehand that was pretty awesome too, if I can remember properly! |
 |
Date: June 3rd, 2004
Venue: Rancho Relaxo
Played With: Sixtyseven, The Handsome Devils, Lyft and hosted by Comedian Jared Sales.
This show was fun, it was hosted by a 'first time' comedian, Jared Sales. I must admit, I didn't really 'get' his humour back then, but click on his name to hear some of his new material!. Fab and Gio's friends band, The Handsome Devils played as well, they were a really upbeat and funky 3-piece who also let me name one of their songs sixtyseven...and that turned out to be my favorite, coincidentally :D |
|
Date: July 31st, 2004
Venue: Rancho Relaxo
Played With: Sixtyseven, Tradition, Parkade, the Avros.
This is the show where we met our now good friends the Avros. There was also this weirdo band playing called Parkade, which was like a few guys sitting at computers making fax machine sounds. Don't ask. I think they were German. The Avros were an awesome band, I think one of the only bands where I know all their songs+the words...I wish they were still together but 2 of the members, Craig and Jeff (also brothers) have started a new project which I hope to see playing soon! |
 |
Date: August 18, 2004
Venue: Club Rockit
Played With: Sixtyseven, Ego Trip, Bent Hefner, Underbrush
I'm not sure WHO booked this gig, but holy crap...it was the worst ever! It was boiling hot, there were count 'em...TWO people there to watch us, and it was in the grossest venue ever! BLECH! |
|
Date: August 26th, 2004 *Download Live mp3's from this show!*
Venue: Rancho Relaxo
Played With: Sixtyseven, The Terminal Wallys, The Handsome Devils, The Avros
For this gig, I got to bring out my friend Darren
and his band, The Terminal Wallys. They are a tight punk band and it was a joy playing with them. I met Darren at a Foo Fighters show back in 2002, so it was neat that we had kept in touch and had our bands play a show together! |
 |
Date: August 28th, 2004
Venue: A trailer park!
Played With: Sixtyseven,
This show was SO much fun. Camping for the weekend with my friends/band, playing every single song we knew...TWICE since they wouldn't let us off the stage, playing on someone's deck...it was quite an experience!! It was a super fun time. |
 |
Date: September 24, 2004
Venue: The Reverb
Played With: Sixtyseven,
This show was for the Paragon Music Competition. It also sadly and unbeknownst to us at the time, would be our last gig with Cris on guitar. Things were really taking off for SS and it was getting too difficult to focus on playing in two different bands. We did pretty well at this show, but I guess not well enough to win! We learned our lesson though...no more competitions! |
 |
Date: October 30th, 2004
Venue: Some Sports bar
Played With: Sixtyseven
Nick booked us this show at this little sports bar in the west end...We were really excited to play our first Hallowe'en gig! Fab and Gio went as 80's rockers, I went as a ghost (my best costume EVER!) and Nick went as Peter Criss from KISS. I'll tell ya, its hot singing a whole set with a sheet over your head! |
 |
Date: December 29th, 2004
Venue: Club 279
Played With: Solo for The Q107 Ultimate Jam Finals
I started going to the Ultimate Jam in October...I won 2 'wildcard' spots for the finals singing Sweet Child O' Mine and Shook Me All Night Long...then the week before the finals I sang Piece of My Heart and won my own spot as a finalist. I sang the same song for the finals and I became the winner of the Ultimate Jam, round 6. |
 |
Date: February 19th, 2005
Venue: Rancho Relaxo
Played With: Sixtyseven, Scarlet Sins, The Handsome Devils
I did double-duty for this show, singing with both Scarlet Sins AND Sixtyseven. It was the most I had ever had to sing in one night, and it was quite the work-out! It was a lot of fun though, playing with both bands and seeing The Handsome Devils again. They do a GREAT cover of Bye Bye Bye. :D |
 |
Date: March 10th, 2005
Venue: The Red Square
Played With: Scarlet Sins, Scandalnavia, Cougar Party.
I was filling in for this show with Scarlet Sins. I had to have lyrics and melodies to about 4-5 songs and I was so stressed! It felt like High School again but in the end it was worth it. I proved to myself that maybe my lyrics weren't so bad and playing with the girls was a great experience! |
 |
Date: July ??, 2005
Venue: The Smiling Buddha
Played With: Sixtyseven Acoustic, The Avros, The Handsome Devils
This was a little show put on by Craig for Jeff's 'Bachelor Party'. Fab and I played Sixtyseven songs acoustic along with a couple of covers. It was a neat little set that we got to do and we were happy to be asked since The Avros became one of our favorite bands to do shows with. |
 |
Date: August 12th, 2005
Venue: Clinton's
Played With: StillWind, Mojave Sun
This was my first gig with StillWind, we played it about 2 weeks after I joined. It was my first time doing all covers which was pretty fun and the crowd seemed to dig us. |
|
Date: November 11th, 2005
Venue: The 2nd Floor Lounge
Played With: StillWind
My first ALL-NIGHT show ever! 3 Sets of 45 and getting PAID. This is what its all about!! There were a few train-wrecks at this show but all in all, it was fun. There was a great turn-out and I got to perform a whole wack of songs that I never had sang before. |
 |
Date: November 18th, 2005
Venue: The Brunswick House
Played With: Vixens With Vox, Valerie Mero-Smith, Lisa Comeau, Darlene van Zweeden
This show was my first solo show. There was a 4ft poster in the window of this bar with our picture on it, so we were mini-celebrities for about a month too! I did the hard-rock set of the bunch, with Iron Maiden and AC/DC being my 2 best songs of the night. |
 |
Date: November 20th, 2005
Venue: The Metro Convention Centre
Played With: The Toronto Music Expo: Ultimate Jam Special Ed.
All the previous winners of the Ultimate Jam and some Jam favorites were asked to perform in this Special Edition of the Ultimate Jam. I did a rendition of What Is and What Should Never Be/Stairway ending and it was a good performance. My friend Jamie Dart took home the deserved win. She rocks! |
 |
Date: December 11th, 2005
Venue: Home Depot
Played With: StillWind
That's right, Home Depot. We were hired to play a Christmas party for the employees of this Home Depot since a few of the guys were friends with someone that worked there. I've never played in the Lumber section of a Home Depot before, and I probably never will again, but what a fun show this was! AND we got a buffet dinner! YUM!
|
|
Date: December 23rd, 2005
Venue: The Big Sexy
Played With: StillWind, Live Sex Show
For this show, we got to open for Darren Smith and Live Sex Show. This venue was MASSIVE and it was a shame that not more people were there! I was also invited up to sing a couple of songs with LSS later in the night which was a blast. |
 |
Date: January 13th, 2006
Venue: The 2nd Floor Lounge
Played With: StillWind
We had improved a lot for this gig, our second at the 2nd Floor Lounge. Unfortunately, we got really ripped off for this gig and now the memory just leaves a bad taste in my mouth! DON'T GO THERE! |
|
Date: January 27th, 2006
Venue: The Royal Canadian Legion
Played With: StillWind
What a show this was. Very bizarre, and the guys thought so too! We opened the set with O'Canada and played hard/classic rock to a group of people who probably had NO CLUE what the songs were. Even still, we won them over by the end of the night and had them up dancing to Velvet Revolver and No Doubt! It was crazy and very intimidating at first...but then very FUN!
|
|
Date: February 3rd, 2006
Venue: The IT on Dundas
Played With: StillWind
This was a really nice club...I felt a little under-dressed wearing an Iron Maiden shirt! I was really happy that Teddy came out to see this show too, as he had only been able to make a few of my shows before. |
|
Date: March 18th, 2006
Venue: Clinton's
Played With: StillWind
This show was a benefit for Gilda's Club put on by Tom's sister Christine, who is with Second City. It was a neat little show, with improv skits and a raffle draw that seemed to go on for weeks! |
|
Date: March 31st, 2006
Venue: The 2nd Floor Lounge
Played With: StillWind
This was my last gig with StillWind, as I had put together HellCat and StillWind was having some member issues...either way, it was a fun night even though there was a little drama at the end! |
 |
Date: April 28th, 2006
Venue: The Big Sexy
Played With: HellCat, Dressed to Kill, Sandman, Pozer
This was probably one of the funnest gigs I've ever played, perhaps its because I got to play it with my new band and we got to open for all of our amazing friends! It was our first time playing together and people really enjoyed us...I received so many emails from people I had never met the next day stroking our egos...haha its ok though, they are still small :) |
 |
Date: June 10th, 2006
Venue: The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
HellCat's first all-night gig!! This gig was really a lot of fun and probably the most demanding night I've ever had to perform. Not only was it 3 sets of some of the hardest songs that I know, it was also just a few days after I was starting to feel better from a cold. Thankfully a lot of friends came out to see us and we were invited back again in August. It was Cat and T's first All-Night 3-set gig EVER and I was so proud of them! They totally did amazing! |
 |
Date: June 23rd, 2006
Venue: The Boulevard Club
Played With: Ted Janik, Jeff Filardo
I had no idea how this show was going to go...Ted hadn't picked up a bass in 8 years and due to a mix up, had only about 2 days to learn 17 songs...but to be honest, he did an amazing job learning them and made less mistakes than Jeff and I! It was a very odd gig, we were just in a room and people would wander in and out...We were basically background music. It felt really nice to finally play a show with Teddy! |
 |
Date: July 25th, 2006
Venue: The Kathedral
Played With: HellCat, Fresh Meat, Stereo Drive By, Jerkbank, Dogs, Bukkake K.
We were the only cover band playing this Jagermeister-sponsored show. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect. Would these people respect us since we played only covers? OF COURSE they would, because we kicked ASS. We played a nice selection of 80's hair metal and people really enjoyed it, much to our delight. It was a fun show, even though the place kinda smelled like pee. |
 |
Date: August 12th, 2006
Venue:The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
This was a show I was worried about. We hadn't practiced any of our songs since the last Peel Pub gig due to us learning a handful of new songs for the Kathedral gig and people going on vacation and such. But you know what? WE PULLED IT OFF! Its definitely something I don't want to go through again though, silly stress for sure. It wasn't as sweaty as last time, either, since T and I smartened up and brought fans. The blowy type, not the screamy type. :) |
 |
Date: August 26th, 2006
Venue: Haydon, ON
Played With: HellCat
This show almost didn't happen, due to rain...but a little drizzle can't stop us! We won over a crowd of country-music fans and played beside a field of cows that we could hear cheering for us (excited Moo's). We learned a few classic rock standards and threw them in the mix. The Police came to shut us down (that's a first for me!) and we had some awesome food (corn on the cob...delicious!). Apparently we did a good job, because they want us to come back next year! |
 |
Date: September 29th, 2006
Venue: Jersey's Bar and Grill
Played With: HellCat
We got a call to do this show last minute from a cancellation. It was nice, because when we originally booked with them, the first available date was in February 2007...! We did our own sound and apparently we sounded good. The night went well save for some disgruntled poker players and that drunk guy who threw the chair at the bar. Thank goodness that was during our last song! |
 |
Date: October 13th, 2006
Venue: The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
This show was maybe one of my favorite HellCat shows yet. We played well, we got up some friends to play with us (Randy Infuso - Panama, Yvonne Dablah - Immigrant Song, Lisa Smith - Man In The Box) and some people that had never seen us before finally made it out to the show. Despite Justin having a sprained wrist, we pulled everything off and hopefully gained some fans! |
 |
Date: November 12th, 2006
Venue: The Pickering Rec Centre, Carly Chapman's Art Show
Played With: HellKitten (Me, Jeff, Cat - Acoustic)
This was a really laid-back and fun show. We did acoustic versions of almost everything, (yeah...I mean it, Welcome to the Jungle, Outshined, Panama...we did 'em!) and got to see some really great local artists displaying their art. I'm glad we got to be a part of it and a special thanks to Fab from sixtyseven for letting me borrow his gear!! |
 |
Date: December 15, 2006
Venue: Frosty John's
Played With: HellCat
Wow. This was my worst show I'd have to say!! BUT IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS SICK AS A DOG! Phlegm got the best of me, unfortunately. Luckily, Darren Smith (Live Sex Show, Harem Scarem, Big Willy) was there doing sound for us and he filled in singing on a bunch of songs, and near the end thankfully my voice made a comeback and we even played a Bon Jovi request...! The crowd was very forgiving and understanding about my condition and I just hope everyone had a great time! |
 |
Date: December 23, 2006
Venue: The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
With a date so close to Christmas, I really didn't think we'd have any crowd at this show at all. Amanda came through though, bringing out a buttload of people for her BIRTHDAY! She also came up and sang Electric Eye with us and it was an awesome debut! For our finale we had Jeff B. formerly of The Avros (see above!) play Killing In The Name with us and it was smashing! Thanks to everyone who spent Christmas Eve-Eve with us! See you in 2007! |
|
Date: February 23, 2007
Venue: The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
Our first gig of the year, at the good ol' Peel Pub. We debuted a few new songs, like Free Your Mind and School's Out (yay T!), and we also had Rick van Dyk come up and play some Iron Maiden with us. My voice was finally strong again (after being sick for the past 2 shows...urgh) and it felt GREAT to be performing! I think we did a great job and hopefully I'll be uploading some tunes from this show soon! |
 |
Date: May 4th, 2007
Venue: The Peel Pub
Played With: HellCat
This was a slow night for some reason. Near the end the place pretty much emptied out except for this one dude who seemed to LOVE us, which was awesome. We debuted a lot of new songs at this show, and they were all well-received. We also had a significant group of "HellCat virgins" who claimed they left impressed by us! SCORE! |
 |
Date: June 8th, 2007
Venue: Frosty John's
Played With: HellCat
This show was PACKED! There was some wonky weather in the afternoon of this show and even a power outtage that scared me for a little bit right before we were supposed to go on...but we performed without a hitch (except for blowing out the P.A. during Rage Against the Machine--irony?). We debuted a bunch of new songs which worked out pretty well, thank goodness. Darren Smith did sound for us and helped sing back-up on a few songs which made me wonder if he was permanently available for singing back up? Ha... |
 |
Date: February 4th, 2008
Venue: Markville Pub - Stage West Christmas Party
Played With: Stillwind Unplugged
This was our practice show for the acoustic gig. It was in the basement of a little pub, a nice little private party. It was a fun time, although I am a little disappointed that I didn't win a wine opener. |
 |
Date: February 23rd, 2008
Venue: The Clock n' Hen Pub
Played With: Stillwind Unplugged
Our first real show! Went a little smoother than the last show, and we threw in some not-so-typical acoustic versions of tunes like Highway to Hell and You Could Be Mine, and it sounded great. We'll see if this turns into a regular gig. |
 |
Date: March 7th, 2008
Venue: The Blue Moon Pub
Played With: sixtyseven + Rich from Handsome Devils
Our reunion show!!! This was a really last minute show, but it was still SO much fun hanging out with the guys again and practice felt just like it did years ago. It felt awesome performing with them again too, so I wouldn't be surprised if another reunion is in the works!! We did a bunch of weird covers like Beat It and What's Up, along with Sweet Taste of Bitterness and Out to Ash for the only originals making an appearance. |
 |
Date: July 24th & 25th, 2009
Venue: Stage West Hotel
Played With: Tom and Enzo
Well well well...my first gigs in over a year and what happens? LARYNGITIS!! I can't believe it. Friday night, I get there and during sound check NOTHING comes out. I had never been so scared in my life!! Luckily I somehow pulled through, with the help from Jeff Eff, Kristine, and the TAS kids (Rhiannon, you are amazing!) and it wound up being a couple of VERY successful nights! |
 |
Date: September 26th, 2009
Venue: Stage West Hotel
Played With: Classic Rewind
NO LARYNGITIS THIS TIME!! WOO. So we named our little group "Classic Rewind", and it stars Tom, Enzo, Rhiannon and myself. Its pretty fun!! My grandparents and Aunt & Uncle made the show, and it was awesome to have them out. Unfortunately the sound system was garbage, and had a bad effect on our sound but the packed lounge didn't seem to care! |
 |
Date: October 2nd, 2009
Venue: Clinton's Tavern
Played With: Classic Rewind
This was a gig for Tom's sister (Kristine's) birthday and it was a LOT of fun. A touch nostalgic for Tom and I, as we'd played our very first StillWind gig at Clinton's 4 years ago. (WOW...4 YEARS!) The sound was MUCH better and by the end everyone was rocking out in front of the stage. Kristine was nice and drunk too, which was the whole point of the evening. Fun Times! |
 |
Date: July 11th, 2010
Venue: Scruffy Murphy's
Played With: Dat Dam Jam Band
My dream came true!! For my 30th birthday, I had a JAM PARTY! I got to host the jam and play with Kojo Ferguson, Rob Hiemstra, and Dale Harrison. I did about 10 songs that I love, and then got to play with my Dad, HellCat reunion (including Cat!), Ron Melanson and Jon Field. It was SO much fun. My friend Claudette made me a wicked cherry chip heart-shaped cake with pink cream cheese icing...It was very cool! It was the best way to turn 30 :) |
